 "Scholar disappointed" 2009-11-04
By J. D. HUGHES
I recently bought a Kindle and find it suited to the purpose of reading for pleasure, such as the books I read for my book club. However, I am disappointed to find that I cannot use it for research because it does not give the page numbers used in the printed version of the books. What I need is a Kindle for scholars.

"Best Purchase I Made This Year" 2009-11-04
By Gerald D. Brezinski (Wisconsin)
Absolutely no regrets after receiving my new Kindle DX. Downloaded a book in a place where others had no cell phone service (Northern Wisconsin). All the other terrific advantages soon became apparent as I became more familiar with it. Yes I read the manual, and glad I did as the features continue to amaze me. Don't pass on this one!

"Love almost everything about the DX" 2009-11-04
By Walter H. Kittredge (Fort Myers, FL)
I truly love almost everything about the DX...and own, or have owned both a K1 and a K2 so I have a basis for comparison.

But -- why did you see fit to skimp on the keyboard by removing the top row of keys? The keyboard on all the Kindles is somewhat difficult to use, but it's even more so on the DX when all numbers have to be combined with a second key...and the difference between alt and ^ can be confusing.
