"Very convnient but expensive to read newspapers" 2009-08-31
By Balan Tholandi (San Diego, CA USA)
I like everything about Kindle. The only problem is the price for the subscription especially for newspapers like WSJ and NY Times. While the publishers saved the price of the print and delivery they have not passed the savings to the consumers. Also some of the newspapers are available free on the Internet and makes you wonder why one would pay for it to get it on Kindle.

"Kindle DX - Buyer Beware..." 2009-08-31
By Bibi (Floral Park, New York United States)
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2SC73PY1I50XE Kindle DX - Excellent when it works! Mine malfunctioned after a little over 2 months (see video). I never dropped it, never poured liquids over it, didn't step on it, didn't let dog lick it, didn't keep it out in the sun or in the freezer, etc. I took excellent care of it and it malfunctioned at the most inopportune time! I was getting ready to go on a road trip and needed to read some books for my upcoming class! Go figure...

"Don't wast you time thinking, purchase it." 2009-08-30

It is a very practical e-book reader. The only concern is how to convert your stuff to the kindle extension (file format) in an efficient way without loosing the original text format. In general, I highly recommend the Kindle DX for you.

"Very Happy with the DX" 2009-08-30
By Purplemuzzle (Las Vegas)
I upgraded from the Kindle 1 to the DX... very glad I did, the bigger screen does make a difference for me. And the wide screen mode works well when needed for displaying certain docs and pictures... mostly I don't need the wide screen but it's nice to have the capability. I agree with some of the other reviewers that when holding the reader with the right hand sometimes the next page button is not located high enough...center of gravity requires you to hold with one hand higher up than the button... but still.. it's a great reader. I've never had any problems with my Kindle 1 and trust this will be just as reliable. Even though it's bigger, it's still just as mobile, I take it when flying, waiting in the doctors office, to read in bed, even in the bathtub.
