The Kindle DX Leather Cover is well worth the price for the portection is affords. The Kindle snaps securely into the cover. When closed it provides a high degree of protection all around your Kindle. It also looks terrific. When open the front cover folds all the way around the back, completely out of the way. Magnets hold is firmly in place in either positon. Highly recommended.

I bought this cover together with my DX after reading the warnings from others about the possibilty of cracking the cover.
Here's what I did to mitigate that possibility: Went to Wal-mart where I bought adhesive-backed Velcro. Cut two small matching pieces of each (stick them together, then cut them out). Stick the stacked pieces to the inside corners of the back cover and the back of the DX...this is easy since you can lift the cover up a good inch to get your Velcro inside. Squish the leather back and the DX together and, voila! you don't have to worry further. The Velcro gives enough resistance that if you pull up on the back cover by mistake you'll know because it won't easily come off.
Hope this helps as the cover is really excellent.

The cover was bought to go with a KindleDX that my son bought for my wife's birthday. By the time my wife's birthday rolled around and we figured out how to download without wireless, the 1 month return period had expired.
The problem is that Amazon sold the Kindle to my son using his US$ credit card issued by a non US Bank. As it turns out, Amazon will not sell Ebooks to someone using a non-US bank credit card. He should have been advised of this before he copmpleted the purchase, in which case he would not have bought the Kindle. Hence, we have a very expensive Kindle for which we cannot buy books. Because of Amazon's lack of interest in helping us in this situation, I haven't even opened the box in which the cover came in since I received it. The whole affair has damaged my respect for Amazon and leaves me with mixed feelings about purchasing from Amazon in the future.

The keyboard is inoperable because of size. For left handed people the design is impossibly difficult. I love the concept though. Now all I need is Apple to design it's version.

The cover is nice and sturday and I cannot imagine having the Kindle DX without having the cover for protection.
