I am sure that the Kindle DX changes my reading experience. I got hooked on it after the first usage. Its large E-ink display is easy to read than I thought. The user interface is straightforward, but I am not satisfied with the keyboard because the numbers can be entered with alt-key combination only.
In conclusion, The Kindle DX is one of my best buys from Amazon.com.

The Kindle DX could very easily be fantastic, but isn't. The reasons? Well, it's already been said many times: It has (1) no way of organizing documents, and (2) poor navigation within a document, and (3) the pdf support is mediocre (no zooming for example).
The biggest issue is (1). What use is 3Gig of space if you can't organize your documents? Fixing this seems like it would be easy but apparently Amazon is unwilling. I would not buy it again.

I am really enjoying the capability of having the Kindle for downloading books; however, it is not as effective as I thought it would be. As a student I thought this would be a great tool for research projects where PDF's and articles could be reviewed at anytime, any place. The Kindle does allow you to download PDFs, but it does not allow you to change the size of the font for reading purposes and if the PDF is in color....forget about reading it..quality is lacking in this area. I am disappointed in this feature. I would also love to have the capability of sorting the downloaded information; possibly setting up a file for books in one area, PDF's in another...maybe I'm missing something, everything goes into the document file and you have to go through your entire index to find what you want, this will be a nightmare as I continue to add items.

My grandmother bought my first novel and opened my eyes to the joy of reading. The biggest problem has been storage space for all of my books. I have started to pick out volumns of my lesser liked authors and donate them to my local library. Another thought is the money that I have spent through the years. My Kindle DX is the "cat's meow". Storage is no longer a problem and the price for books insures great savings. The quality of reading a novel on a "Kindle" has not lessened because of not having a hardbound, colorful jacketed book in hand. I enjoy the built in features that make using the "Kindle" so easy.
The first one that I saw was being used by a gentleman in a waiting room. I asked him about it and he explained it with great pleasure. I was able to use some coupons from my bank which allowed me to upgrade to the DX model. I am happy that I did and I would not hesitate to purchase one again with or without savings coupons.
My daughters love to read and this will be a great gift for them.
Thank you very much for bringing the joy of reading to the 21st century.
