I found the Kindle DX too heavy and unwieldy. I was unable to get a signal to download books and did not like the overall concept of not being able to turn pages of a book, go back to another page without reading instructions first, etc. I returned the product.

Bought this cover despite some negative reviews. I have been watching the clip area for any bulges etc, nothing. A couple times I opened the Kindle from the wrong end which scared me considering the defect reviews, all is well though.
I believe if you just watch how your opening the cover etc, you will be fine. I might grab some Velcro to fasten down the other side to avoid opening it from the wrong side, avoiding the cracking issue as described in other reviews.
Looks nice and neat, feel great to the hand.

I was a little skeptical to buy without feeling it first. But I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get the kindle in the cover. It makes holding the Kindle easy because it is more like a book. It is not bulky.
If someone were in a dusty area or around kids with PB&J fingers, I might recommend a totally enclosed one, but for everyday use I think it is a very "user-friendly" case.

I was immediately disappointed when I opened this cover for my Kindle. The lack of a closure and the way the Kindle connects to the cover does not entirely secure the device to the cover. As a result, within a few weeks, the Kindle began to crack at the fasten points to the cover. Needless to say I was distressed. Fortunately, Amazon replaced my Kindle without a problem. I am choosing a different case this time.

The Kindle DX Leather Cover is well worth the price for the portection is affords. The Kindle snaps securely into the cover. When closed it provides a high degree of protection all around your Kindle. It also looks terrific. When open the front cover folds all the way around the back, completely out of the way. Magnets hold is firmly in place in either positon. Highly recommended.
